Multiplex Townhomes are the development options made easier by the Province of British Columbia’s Small Scale Multi Unit Housing legislation allowing for 4 to 6 Units on Former Single Family Properties.

Design options vary City by City and include duplexes, ground level condos, stacked townhomes, coach homes, slab on grade townhomes, 4 storey condos and a variety of other 4 to 6 unit strata developments.

Burnaby is leading the way with over 180 applications in the first 6 months of the new zoning opportunity. Site plans presented at the showcase will include:

  • 2,200 sf detached two storey strata homes,

  • 1,800 sf three storey side by side duplexes, and

  • 1,600 sf townhomes with garages.

Prezoning and no development permit processes minimize administrative, market and holding time risk.
